Meet Katherine

Katherine is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor in the state of Virginia, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of North Carolina and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Massachusetts with over 10 years of experience. She has a collaborative and holistic approach to counseling.  She incorporates evidenced based practices and mindfulness in her therapy sessions, individualizing her approach to best benefit each client.

Katherine obtained her Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Masters of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling and a Post Graduate Certificate in Professional Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has experience working with clients in residential treatment centers, community-based services, the criminal justice system/corrections and in private practice. She enjoys working with adolescents and adults with a variety of clinical issues including mental health diagnoses, trauma, grief and substance use disorders.

 

Katherine has specialty training and experience working with individuals and family members of those diagnosed with chronic and terminal medical conditions including cancer.  Her experience allows these individuals to navigate this challenging, and often scary journey of illness in a safe, supportive environment. 

 

Katherine is a culturally competent counselor who is LGBTQIA affirming. 

 

Katherine provides individual, couples and family counseling.
